The front center features architecture of Berlin and Cologne, with a banner between stating "Deutschland Ist Schon" (Germany is Beautiful), and the Imperial German Eagle beneath. The side panels depict many architectural and landscape highlights of the country including: Heidelberg, Rothenburg, Munich, Neuschwanstein Castle, Rudesheim, Frankfurt, Schwarzwald (Black Forest), Dresden, and Lorelei on the Rhine. The top rim band states "Deutschland, Germany, Allemagne". The domed pewter lid displays intricately-detailed relief banding.
