This stein's polished black, tapered-style body, features a pewter Imperial German Eagle, framed with gold accents and relief vining, at the center front. The Imperial German Eagle originates from an emblem believed to have been used by Charlemagne, the first Frankish ruler crowned Holy Roman Emperor by the Pope in 800 A.D., and was derived from the Eagle Standard of the Roman army. The domed pewter lid displays detailed relief banding, with Edelweiss flowers and horse-drawn beer wagons.
